Cleaning Sewage Backup for Metropolitan Transit Company

Chad Vanvari
Mar 23, 2015 Press Comments Off on Cleaning Sewage Backup for Metropolitan Transit Company

Flood Services Canada, the Greater Toronto Area’s leading 24-hour emergency flood, fire, and smoke damage restoration response service team, is announcing it has been selected to perform sewage backup cleaning for a metropolitan transit company.

“Last week was a busy one for Flood Services Canada, the sewage backup cleaning being the first major job that kept us busy,” says Chad Vanvari, owner of Flood Services Canada. “It’s currently the transition from winter to spring, so we expect to be a bit busier than usual. That said, this particular job wasn’t directly related to the change in weather, which has been slow at best.”

Vanvariexplains that the real difficulty with this particular sewage cleaning job was ensuring the team operated under the numerous health and safety protocols laid out by the Ministry ofLabour.

“There’s a standard that’s not only expected, but mandated by law,” he adds. “We have to be sure that not only our company, but also whichever companywe’recontracted to do work for, in this case a transit company, is up to code when it comes to safety and security within their facility.”

According to Vanvari, the other project that kept Flood Services Canada busy last week was an immensemouldremediation project in a former midtown Toronto restaurant. The job was done to accommodate the new occupant as a result of a water damage loss.

“The main goal with this project was to prevent any further microbial growth,” he observes. “Severe water damage often leads tomould, so we had to address that first before anything.”

”With the change in weather, we expect Flood Services Canada to be more active in the upcoming months, dealing with water damage in homes and commercial properties,” Vanvari concludes. “We’re prepared forthis, so propertyowners can save themselves a lot of problems by contacting Flood Services Canada as soon as any flooding or water damage occurs.”
