Regardless of whether you are experiencing a leak in the pipes or an outright flooding situation, minimizing damage will depend on prompt water removal and extraction. Although there are numerous methods that can be used to drain away water and dry your property, it takes a trained, certified professional to perform water extractions quickly, with the best tools, and without inadvertently causing further damage in the process. Our technicians are fully certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC), which means that you can rest assured they will perform their flood cleanup duties with the utmost speed, efficiency, and effectiveness in the GTA and surrounding areas.

Our Water Removal Process
Although every water damage situation will be different, Flood Services Canada, Toronto technicians employ certain water removal procedures that we (and our past clients) have found to be very effective and adaptable.
We have the equipment and experience necessary to handle the most challenging water damage and flood water removal situations. We are always prepared for water emergencies and are available around-the-clock.
Inspection and Assessment
Our technicians will quickly assess the extent of the water damage. This is not just a matter of eyeing things up, either. We employ infrared cameras, moisture meters, and other specialized equipment to detect even hidden patches of moisture that might be within your walls.
Water Removal and Drying
This is where the big guns come in. Pumps, air movers, dehumidifiers, specialized vacuums, and more are all employed to remove not only any standing water but also excessive moisture in the air, on carpets, or on furniture. In addition to helping move the drying process along, the careful use of these tools is meant to prevent any secondary forms of water damage, such as the warping of floors, walls, or furniture.
One of the more insidious risks of water damage is that it can allow mould to set in and bacteria to spread. Knowing this, our technicians follow up our water extractions with recognized sanitization practices to inspect, disinfect, and secure your property against any potential pathogens. This involves tools such as air scrubbers and disinfectants as well as careful, trained inspection, removal, and disposal of contaminated and unsalvageable materials.
Once the water has been removed, we can concentrate on safely drying, deodorizing and disinfecting the areas that have been flooded or damaged by water. The following are examples of some of the equipment we use and maintain for water extraction:
- Submersible and gas-powered pumps for continuous pumping of high-level water
- High performance truck-mounted extraction
- Portable water extraction units that perform efficient water removal and are necessary for higher levels, hard to reach areas, high-rises, and condominiums
- Waterclaws are used for fresh water losses and are designed for fast and simple flood extraction without having to remove the carpet and pad. They are also able to reach tight corners and work well along wall edges.
