Thermal imaging provides instant verification and moisture detection through a non-destructive process that can find moisture even behind a dry surface or hard-to-reach area. This provides the ability to target problem areas and avoid unnecessary costs and inconvenience.

How Our Thermal Imaging Process Works

No matter how hidden, moisture and dampness are always colder than dry areas. A thermal camera detects the heat emanating from anything it is pointed at. The brighter the image, the more heat that is present. By examining your walls or floors with this camera, technicians will notice any abnormal dark (i.e., colder) patches that indicate the presence of moisture.

We will test the moisture levels in your carpet, floors, walls, and ceilings—everywhere. Unfortunately, we had a flood in the basement of our offices. We were lucky enough to find Flood Service Canada available on a Saturday to come out and provide emergency restoration services. Chad and his team were professional and efficient. They removed all the standing water, cut out the affected drywall, sprayed the area for mould, tested for moisture, and left fans and dehumidifiers running for several days to ensure the area was dry. Severe rain collapsed my roof and ceiling. First General Flood Services was utilized through my renter's insurance to help us through the cleanup process. They packed all of our belongings in our 2BDR house, moved it to a temporary site, and moved it all back when we were ready. As a person who's never used services like this, I was incredibly impressed at their swiftness, convenience and professionalism. We had less than a week vacate and it was so helpful that during this stressful time, I didn't have to worry about our belongings. They packed EVERYTHING: my family's clothing, the flat screen TV, the dishes, even the Ikea cabinet that is bracketed to the wall. Outstanding service from Flood Services Canada – I strongly recommend calling them for any emergency flood service needs. We discovered a leak in our basement after some heavy rainfall… we had a grading issue on our property and it turns out our Oakville home was built over a water table. I called Flood Services Canada and Chad personally came to my home within hours. He assessed the situation, took infrared photos of my entire basement to identify the origin of the leak, and walked me through every single component of the interior restoration work required. He provided me with a clear itemized quote, and was gracious enough to speak with my mother who is a home inspector and former restoration project manager herself. His approach and process got her stamp of approval, and he started work the next day.
