Flood Services Canada (www.FloodServices.ca), the Greater Toronto Area’s leading 24-hour emergency flood, fire, and smoke damage restoration response service team, is announcing the successful completion of its attendance at the 2016 SpringFest.
SpringFest, a trade show for property managers and builders across Toronto, was held this year on Thursday, April 7 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Flood Services Canada was an exhibitor at the event, alongside other members of the Commercial Loss Experts (CLE) network.
“It was an exciting and unique experience,” says Chad Vanvari, owner of Flood Services Canada. “In the remediation business, most contact with property owners comes after a disaster has happened. It’s rare to have an opportunity to connect and proactively educate people.”
While at SpringFest, Flood Services Canada’s senior staff, project managers, and technicians met and spoke with property managers and other professionals. Much of the information that was imparted revolved around prevention of fire, wind, and water damage; methods of anticipating and addressing risks; how to respond when disasters occur; and assessing property losses for insurance claims.
“These kinds of discussions are important, but hard to have under normal circumstances, as it’s not exactly discerning to discuss prevention strategies when in the middle of remediation on a flooded property,” Vanvari explains. “SpringFest provided the opportunity to connect with key players and give them the necessary information for when they actually do require emergency response to put it in to action.”
As with most conventions, various add-ons and giveaways were part of Flood Service Canada’s booth as well. Items handed out included bags, pens, mugs, wallets, and chocolates.
“It helps keep people’s attention; even professionals don’t find things like insurance claim processing riveting,” Vanvari adds, “Two packages of golf outings at the Copper Creek Golf Club were also raffled off by our company, with the winners’ names being drawn a few days after the convention wrapped up.”
Mr. Vanvari concludes, “It is extremely important for property managers to have a reliable emergency water damage restoration team on hand that can respond to fire and water damage losses quickly. Flood Services Canada offers special rates to property managers retaining our services in order to alleviate some of the restoration costs for them. We know they are usually dealing with water damage on a more frequent basis than the average residential owner.”
